This policy explains what JM Auto Repair collects when you book a repair or contact us, and what we do with it. We are a local auto repair shop, not an advertising business — we collect what we need to fix your car and reach you about it, and nothing more.

What we collect

Your name, phone number and, if you give it, your email address.
Your vehicle details — year, make, model, and licence plate if you provide it.
What you have asked us to look at, and the work and status history of your repair.
Whether you agreed to receive text messages about your repair.

How we use it

To schedule your appointment, work on your vehicle, quote and carry out repairs, and contact you about your own repair — by phone, by text if you agreed to it, or by email. We also use it to keep the shop's own service records.

Mobile numbers and text messages

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or your text messaging consent with anyone. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.

If you opt in to text messages, we send only messages about your own repair — normally one when your estimate needs your approval and one when your vehicle is ready. A few messages per visit. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Full details are on our text message page.

Who else sees your information

Only the people who need it to run the shop: our staff, and the service providers that operate our booking system, phone line and text messaging on our behalf. Those providers may only use it to deliver that service to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. We never sell your information.

How long we keep it

We keep repair and booking records for as long as we need them for the shop's service history, warranty questions, and our legal and tax obligations. You can ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP, and stop calls or emails by telling us. Saying no to text messages does not affect the service you receive — consent is never a condition of any purchase or repair.

Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
